United Synagogue Youth (USY)/Kadima

Temple Aliyah’s Youth Program encompasses a variety of programs and events for children and teens throughout the school year, as well as special summer opportunities (SummerFun, Israel, USA Tours, Jewish Camps), all coordinated by our experienced staff and elected peer Board members.

By becoming a member of Temple Aliyah Youth, your child gains access to these and many other opportunities:

KADIMA: open to 4th – 6th grade

  • Two weekday lounges from 6:15pm – 7:45pm: One Thursday and one Monday each month.
  • A Sunday afternoon activity scheduled each month.
  • One Shabbat weekend called KADIMA KINNUS at Camp Ramah.

JR USY: open to 7th – 8th grade

  • Weekly Wednesday Lounges from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.
  • One Shabbat ‘potluck’ Dinner per month at a home with services at Temple Aliyah.
  • Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon events.
  • Weekend retreats with USY Chapter from across the Far-West Region.
  • 8th grade on up: USY Tours USA: 2 and a half weeks (Far West On Wheels) or 6 weeks (USY On Wheels)
  • Many opportunities for COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS!

SR USY: open to 9th – 12th grade

  • Weekly Wednesday Lounges from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.
  • One Shabbat ‘potluck’ Dinner per month at a home with services at Temple Aliyah.
  • Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon events.
  • Weekend retreats with USY Chapter from across the Far-West Region.
  • Summer Israel Pilgrimage, including Spain, Poland, Italy,: 4 weeks – 6 weeks.
  • USY Tours USA: 2 and a half weeks (Far West On Wheels) or 6 weeks (USY On Wheels)
  • Many opportunities for COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

All programs bring together our children and teens in a social environment with a Jewish twist. Throughout the year these areas are continuously engaged: Israel, Education, Fun, Religion, Holidays, Social Action, Tikun Olam, Tzedakah, Fun, Leadership, Community Service, and did we say fun?!!
