Just like you, we value family time. At Temple Aliyah we offer a broad and changing array of special Family Programs that allow you to learn, grow, explore and celebrate together. We offer Shabbat Dinners, Family Learning days, holiday celebrations such as the Sukkot Family Festival, Taste of Hanukkah Family Celebration, Family Havdalah, and annual events such as Mitzvah Day, the Purim Shpiel (Play), and Purim Carnival.
Themed Shabbat dinners before or after services are offered periodically during the year.
Celebrate the end of Shabbat and welcome in a new week at our family and adult only Havdalah celebrations throughout the year.
Sukkot Family Festival
Eat. Play. Lulav. Bring your family and celebrate Sukkot with crafts, drum circle, smoothie spinning, Israeli dancing, music, and of course eating in our community Sukkah. Fun for all ages…
A Taste of Hanukkah
A family celebration with all the tastes of Hanukkah. Latke tasting, olive oil tasting, make your own applesauce, dreidel spinning, stuff your own sufganiyot and much much more. Light the Hanukkiyah and enjoy the music of the holidays.
The New Year of the Trees. Experience a new celebration each year with your family or friends.
Purim Carnival & Shpiel
A musical comedy featuring our congregants. Adults and children are invited to come in costume.
The Purim Carnival features fun filled rides, great games, live entertainment, fabulous kosher food, prizes and auction items. Beginning on a Saturday night, right after Havdalah, and continuing through Sunday evening, the event draws families of all ages from all over.
From desert to dessert……breaking free from tradition. Experience Passover in a new way which you can share with your family and friends at home.
Shavuot is also a great time to reflect on the themes of journey, movement and growth. The ancient Israelites journeyed from Egypt to Mount Sinai, learning from each other and from God. Children and grandparents are on their own journeys as well, Shavuot inspires us to take stock of how far we have come and where we are headed. Share a program full of activities experiencing Shavuot with your grandchild or grandparent.
