Tour Stop 3 : Mitzvah Day

Mitzvah Tour Stop 3 is our annual Mitzvah Day on November 3rd at 10am at Temple Aliyah, where we are assembling 200 personalized duffel bags for children, teens and young adults in emergency foster care.

Keep an eye out for current collection items! We’ll be collecting school supplies, toiletries, comfort items, etc. throughout the fall. Updated information regarding what’s needed will be posted on our facebook page, in print and digital publications. Cedars Sinai will once again be hosting a Blood Drive on Mitzvah Day as well.

Visit templealiyah.org/mitzvahday to register for the blood drive, “adopt-a-bag” via giving a donation, and updated collections information.

Tour Stop 2 : LA Jewish Home

Mitzvah Tour Stop 2 is at the Los Angeles Jewish Home at 1pm on September 15th. We have room for 10 more participants (12 yrs and older). We will create a Rosh Hashanah project together with the residents, and donate it to seniors at other assisted living facilities. Hazzan Stein will lead his choir and klezmer band. Won’t you join with us in this mitzvah so that our friends at the LAJH can feel the sense of joy and purpose found by doing a kindness for someone else?

Tour Stop 1 : Me-Shu-Gaas

First stop on our Mitzvah Tour is Me-shu-gaas on September 8th at Temple Aliyah from 10am-noon. Visit the Community of Caring Table to assemble mitzvah bags for our congregants and drop off school supplies for children/teens/young adults in emergency foster care. Don’t forget to purchase and tie-dye a Mitzvah Tour t-shirt (proceeds will go towards collection items for our Mitzvah Day bag assembly for foster care children).  Scroll down to order your shirt at a discounted price!

More tour stops are scheduled and will be posted here as soon as the details are finalized.
