Youth Programs

The Temple Aliyah Youth Department – winner of the Far West Region’s “CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE” for the sixth time in a row – offers a variety of programs and events for children and teens beginning in 4th grade through their college years. These programs encompass a friendly and continuous connection to their Jewish identity and to our synagogue life.

Between the Youth Chapter’s KADIMA, JR USY and SR USY programs, there are ongoing community service events, youth-oriented Jewish Holiday celebrations, summer activities including Israel, and an array of leadership opportunities.

Contact Sue Shrell Leon, Temple Aliyah Youth Director, at 818-346-3596 or sleon@templealiyah.org for more information.

College Outreach

The College Outreach Program at Temple Aliyah is intended to help college students maintain a friendly and continuous connection with the synagogue and our Rabbis. The Rabbis sometimes visit campuses and plan events for these students.

Community Service

There are many opportunities through the Youth Department for your teen to participate in and receive Community Service hours.

Summer/Israel Programs

The summer programs available for teens are engaging and create lifelong memorable experiences. There are a variety of excellent Jewish camps – overnight and day – Israel teen tours, and USA Tours that our teens should take the time to enjoy, make lifelong friendships, and gain a positive connection to their Judaism.
